Savoia Media was created in 2012 by Rick Savoia, a podcaster and blogger in Charlotte, NC. It's flagship property is The Force Field, a podcast and portal for IT service professionals and IT business owners. The podcast began production in June 2006 and the portal launched by the end of that year.

In early 2012 the company launched Jobcast Central, a national job board.
